Product Information

Very few flowers bring such a classy and instantly recognisable aroma and colour to the garden as lavender, and just the name of the ‘Sensational’ variety tells you everything you need to know!

Witness a summertime display of large blooms as they erupt from excellent silvery green foliage, which remains tidy and compact throughout the year.

Deep purple flowers with a heavenly scent grow on thick stems, whether pushing to the front of borders to bask in the sunlight, or used to define garden lines or pathways.

This is a variety of the timeless English Lavender, which has been gracing our gardens for years, but now boasts stronger stems to remain upright and picturesque for even longer – without flopping!

What’s more, this lavender is weather-resistant and perfect for cutting for the vase – allowing the superb, natural perfume and colour to be brought inside and enjoyed for even longer.

Cut back the first wave of flowers when they start to tire to potentially see a second flush of blooms.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for planting.

  • Best planted between April and when the soil is warming up, ensure the plants gets really good drainage.
  • There's no need to improve the soil as lavender thrives in any poor or moderately fertile conditions.
  • Lavenders should be pruned every year to keep them compact.
  • For established plants, use secateurs to remove flower stalks and about 2.5cm of the current year’s growth - usually in late summer, after flowering -  making sure that some green growth remains.
  • You can prune lighty in April if required.
