A real collectors item. Masses of purple poppies with silk-look delicate petals, ideal for injecting colour into the tricky-to-fill shaded corners of your garden and certainly unlike anything else you’ll see on your street!
Expertly cultivated to produce a variety worth shouting about, ‘Hensol Violet’ is hardy and ready to thrive even in shady borders and woodland-themed areas, particularly drawing the eye when planted en masse.
The bright violet-purple flowers that emerge to end spring and start summer boast many subtle details, including slight darker veining, hints of pink and red stretching towards the tips of the petals, and a ring of orange around the central star-like stamen – a marvel even to the biggest of poppy fans and collectors, and certainly a variety worth growing.
Beds, borders, and pots will all benefit from the addition of these poppy flowers.
Closely related to the much spoken about and loved Himalayan ‘Blue Poppy’, swapping out bright blue petals for rich purple. It shares its name with Scotland’s Hensol House, where it was discovered by Lady Henderson.
Supplied as a single plug plant, ready to grow on before planting out.
