White currant berries are a bit smaller and sweeter than red currants. Although white currants seem to be used less in cooking than their red counterparts, and more for eating raw, white currant jellies, wines and syrups are not unheard of. The white currant is actually an albino cultivar of the redcurrant, but is marketed as a different fruit.
